‘Jersey Shore’ Star Snooki Reveals Shocking Adoption Story

A few years ago, there was a television show on MTV known as the Jersey Shore, which is basically a reality show wherein people lived in a vacation home together and it received rather mixed reviews from the public. It became controversial since it is featuring “Guidos and Guidettes”, which are terms for Italian-American stereotypes. Despite the controversy, the show managed to pull through and its episodes were always on the top trending list at that time.

This then became a pathway to some of its cast to become well known in the industry, just like how Snooki Polizzi became relevant to the media. She got famous on the show not because everyone loved her, but because of her strange appeal. Her popularity grew more and more that people are interested in her life even if the show was over.

Adoption Revelation

In a video that she posted as a vlog on her official YouTube channel, the 30-year-old Jersey Shore star shared her story about her being adopted when she was just a 6-month-old baby.

The reality star grew up in New York with her adoptive parents, she admitted that she never felt comfortable and she never really liked talking about this topic simply because to her, she is just in an ordinary family. Snooki also revealed that she never actually wondered what exactly her birth parents are like or what it would be like if she grew up with her own family.

One of the reasons was apparently because she has always been content with the family that she has. She never felt as if she was actually treated differently by her parents. Then again, the mom of two also admitted now that she’s an adult and a parent herself, she began wondering what her parents actually look like.

The reality star explained how she was actually adopted by her parents Helen and Andrew Polizzi when she was a baby in Chile, in fact, they came all the way there to pick her up. She even considered it as fate is with them and she truly is grateful.

Snooki never really liked calling them her adoptive parents since they have always been her parents, she admitted that she feels incredibly weird whenever she would say it. When asked if she wanted to ever meet them, she simply said that she would definitely be willing to.

Chilean and Italian

She even said that she may look like she is Chilean, but she has always been Italian at heart since that’s how she was brought up. Which is why when people ask what her nationality is, she simply says that she is from Chile but was raised Italian so technically she is a little bit of both.

However, it wasn’t until she was a teenager when she actually found out that she was adopted. Snooki said she kind of knew since her parents don’t look like her at all, especially with the color of their skin compared to hers. The mom of two even revealed that she had to get her dad drunk just so he could tell her why she was put up for adoption since they hate talking about it and hates it when she asked.

It turns out that she was put up for adoption because of how difficult life was there, and her biological family could no longer afford to have her so they had to give her away so she could have a chance to have a better life.

Snooki said that she thought it was a selfless decision for them since they had to sacrifice being with her to make sure she grows up having a better life with people who would love her and provide all her needs and wants growing up.

Then again despite that, the reality star admitted that having to give up her own children is something she could never do. She grew up as an only child and so when she found out about the truth, she wondered why her biological parents didn’t want her or what it would be like for her to have siblings. Which is basically one of the reasons why she wants to make sure she has children because she doesn’t want them to wonder about it and feel alone.
