This is the Real Reason Why Jennifer Lopez Doesn’t Really Count Her Two Previous Marriages as She Prepares to Wed Fiance Alex Rodriguez

It’s no secret that divorces aren’t really a rare occurrence in Hollywood. There are many reasons why celebrity marriages fail but it’s not often that an A-lister would go out of their way to discount their previous marriages.

That’s exactly what singer and actress, Jennifer Lopez, just did though.

Wedding Details

Lopez and Rodriguez got engaged during a vacation at the Bahamas last March. The wedding will join the couple’s two sets of children together

In a video posted recently on the 49-year-old star’s Youtube channel, she revealed some details about her upcoming nuptials to her former pro athlete fiance. While Lopez didn’t give an exact date for their wedding, she did say that she would like a big wedding at a church next year. Lopez, herself is a Catholic and attended Catholic schools all her life.

Getting engaged just a couple of months ago, it’s not surprising that the couple is in no rush to walk down the aisle. They’ve been together for about a year when Rodriguez proposed to Lopez with a ring that’s rumored to have cost over $1 million.

Fourth Time’s a Charm?

In the same video, Lopez also acknowledged that she’s been married three times before. However, she says that the first two don’t really count because they only lasted nine months and 11 months, respectively.

The actress is pertaining to her first marriage with Cuban waiter Ojani Noa in 1997 and her second marriage to American actor Cris Judd in 2001. She counts her third marriage with singer Marc Anthony though. Anthony is also the father of Lopez’s twin children Emme and Max. They were married for 10 years before calling it quits in 2014. It’s also worth noting that the singer almost walked down the aisle with former Batman actor Ben Affleck with whom she was engaged to for two years.

Opening up, Lopez says that she was young during her first two marriages and that she felt lonely despite being surrounded by people. Thus, she thought she needed to get married in order to have somebody with her. She eventually realized that that’s not how life works though.

What more, she says that her reasoning was the wrong one to want to be married. Lopez says that the ‘right one’ is just somebody who makes a person better.  And it looks like she has found the right one in Rodriguez.

First Meeting

Lopez has previously said that she already knew that she wanted to marry Rodriguez after just about a year of dating him

While the couple only got together in 2017, the two have actually met way before that. Their first meeting happened in 2005. Both of them were married to other people at the time but said that there was ‘electricity’ between them.

Rodriguez was then married to his ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis. They eventually divorced in 2008 just months after the birth of their second kid. Lopez, meanwhile, was with Anthony.
