Another Hollywood couple has bit the dust. After years of dating and a daughter together, Bradley Cooper and Russian model Irina Shayk, have called it quits.
The confirmation of the split came from a report that People magazine made public. Apparently, an unnamed source told the magazine about the breakup but didn’t give out specific details about what may have caused it.
The source also revealed that the exes are currently busy figuring out how to share custody of their two-year-old daughter, Lea De Seine. It’s worth noting though that neither of the two parties’ representatives has made any official statements about the separation yet.
The 44-year-old actor and the 33-year-old model first started dating in 2015 just a month after Cooper’s break up with English model Suki Waterhouse. They then made their relationship public another month later during a London trip. More than a year later, Shayk surprised the world by showing off her growing baby bump as she walked for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Paris.
Meanwhile, Shayk was in a five-year relationship with pro soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo before dating Cooper. The relationship ended in early 2015.
On The Rocks
The breakup may not come as a surprise for some as rumors of cracks in their relationship have circulated since October 2018. In a recent report, Page Six wrote about how neither Cooper nor Shayk was happy in their relationship and that ‘things are not good’ between them.
Likewise, an earlier report from the same publication alleged that the two were ‘miserable together’. This strain was reportedly caused by Shayk’s desire to go out clashing with Cooper’s swearing off of drinking.
Still, the couple appeared to be doing well as Shayk showed her boyfriend support during the 2019 Oscar Awards season where Cooper’s directorial debut, ‘A Star Is Born‘ received numerous nominations and awards.
Shutting Down Rumors
Because of their on-screen chemistry in the award-winning movie, many fans started to link Cooper with his ‘A Star Is Born’ co-star Lady Gaga. Speculations about a possible romance between the two peaked after their much-praised live performance of the song, ‘Shallow’, at the 91st Academy Awards.
However, the 33-year-old musician denied the accusations that she had a role to play in Cooper’s breakup with Shayk. In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel back in February, Lady Gaga even clarified that Jackson and Ally, her and Cooper’s characters, are just fictional and that she doesn’t have a romantic relationship with her co-star and director. In the end, the singer insists that they’re just artists who did a good job with their performance.
