Wendy Williams, or ‘Aunty Wendy’ as she’s called by her fans, is known for her lively and sassy attitude exemplified best on her hit daytime talk show, ‘The Wendy Williams Show‘. But despite her sunny disposition, the 55-year-old television personality is not shy of expressing her emotions.
She did exactly that in a recent episode of her show.
Challenging Year

Closing the 10th season of ‘The Wendy Williams Show’, Aunty Wendy quickly got emotional as she recalls how 2019 has recently turned out for her. She admitted that the latest season of the show has been ‘hell’ for her.
Still, she considers her one-hour a day on the show as a time for her to get away from the awful things she’s been facing in her personal life.
The star’s name has been making the rounds in tabloids after her divorce from husband Kevin Hunter has been made public.
She also faced some health problems earlier in the year which resulted in her needing to take a break from the show for a couple of months as she battles an autoimmune disease and recovers from a fractured shoulder.
In the end, though, Williams thanked her viewers for being one of her few joys in life. She also announced that her show would be returning for a new season come September.
Old Issues Resurface

Perhaps the biggest hurdle that Williams faced was the aftermath of her marital struggles. After allegations of infidelity, the host filed for divorce from her husband in April. It’s also worth noting that she admitted on the show, just two weeks after returning to the show, that she’s been living in a sober house after a fall back to old addictions.
Eventually, though, Williams got back on her feet and has reportedly moved out of the sober house and has even cut all ties with her ex-husband, who also served as an executive producer on ‘The Wendy Williams Show’.
He has since been removed from his post with Williams even dissolving the joint foundation, The Hunter Foundation, which they co-founded four years ago. Meanwhile, Hunter has also come out with a statement regarding his divorce in which he said that he was ‘not proud of my recent actions’.
Moving On

Meanwhile, the host seems to be taking strides in moving on from that dark chapter in her life. She even teased on her show that she’s been taken off the market by a doctor she’s currently dating.
As she revealed, the mysterious man is black and has kids in their 20s. Williams herself has one son, Kevin Hunter Jr., who’s about to turn 19 this August.
Some people have speculated that Williams may be seeing one Dr. Darrin Porcher, a former cop turned doctor. However, Porcher has since dispelled the rumors and said that he was only in contact with the host to ‘provide security’ at the time of her divorce.
