In many ways, celebrities are just like regular people especially when it comes to pets. They treat them like real members of the family and mourn when they’re gone just the same. ‘Dark Phoenix‘ actress Sophie Turner and musician Joe Jonas are no exception.
After having recently lost their beloved dog, Waldo, in an accident, the newlywed couple decided to commemorate him this way.
According to Insider, Waldo perished last July 24 after he was hit by a car in the streets of New York City. Apparently, the Alaskan Klee Kai dog was with his dog walker when he reportedly got ‘spooked’ by something, broke free from his leash and ran into traffic. It seems that the couple was still away at their honeymoon when the accident happened.
And now weeks later, Turner and Jonas decided to keep a little memory of Waldo by getting matching tattoos of their beloved pet’s face. The two reportedly went to Bang Bang Ink’s Dragon for the intricate ink portraits of their deceased pet. Jonas then shared their new tattoo to his Instagram followers. The 29-year-old musician got his inked on his forearm right beside his other tattoos while his 23-year-old wife opted for a smaller version of the tattoo on her upper arm.
Part of the Family
It was Jonas who got Waldo for Turner back in April 2018. They initially had the dog’s brother called Porky but decided to adopt the late dog as well to serve as a companion to the one they already had. As expected, the couple, who went almost everywhere with their pups, were very devastated about Waldo’s passing.
Fortunately, the two of them got plenty of support from their fans who sent their love and condolences to the mourning pet parents. One Instagram user even applauded their new tribute tattoos for Waldo and called them the ‘best doggy parents ever’.
While the memory of their former companion remains fresh, Turner and Jonas reportedly got a new dog which they were seen with in Miami, Florida. Us Weekly has even snapped photos of the British actress carrying the golden retriever puppy.
It’s worth noting though that the star hasn’t shared any photos of the pet yet on her Instagram. But the pup has also been spotted in a video posted as an Instagram story by Jonas.
The young star is a known dog lover and has actually once adopted a dog that played her character’s pet in the hit HBO series ‘Game of Thrones‘ some years ago. The Inuit dog named Zunni, appeared as the dire wolf Lady during the show’s first season. Unfortunately, the celebrity dog has also passed on.
