Everyone remembers Amanda Bynes for her bubbly personality and fantastic acting skills but she was just another celebrity who got stuck in the Hollywood cycle and got caught up in some drama, which resulted in her getting a conservatorship, just like Pop star Britney Spears. Similar to Britney, Amanda also was caught in a cycle of Hollywood drama loaded with angry tweets, drugs, and lots of alcohol. The internet, however, wasn’t too happy about it and it did what it does best: drag Amanda Bynes until she was completely off the radar.

Recently, she rejoined social media where she announced her engagement and pregnancy but that didn’t last either. It seemed that Amanda was still struggling but now that the conservatorship is over, she can get the help and the freedom she deserves.

A New Chapter

A new page started in the life of the 35-year-old actress when the judge ended her adult guardianship on 22 March, as reported by TMZ. However, it did not happen out of anywhere. Written by US Weekly after obtaining exclusive documents, it was only after Amanda Bynes’ mother, Lynn Bynes, put in a declaration of support for the notion that Amanda’s request for termination of the conservatorship.

Conservatorship History

This conservatorship was introduced in 2013 after Amanda Bynes suffered from a series of mental health and substance-abuse issues. Initially, it was stated that the former child star would be placed under a temporary conservatorship. By 2014, Lynn was named the guardian who would look after Amanda’s health and personal matters. It seemed like the judge wasn’t too pleased with Amanda’s behavior. After 4 years, he extended the conservatorship to 2020. But when 2021 rolled around, the conservatorship surrounding her estate was terminated. However, her mother still had legal control over her, which meant that she could still use her power to make medical decisions for her.

Being Free

Now, it looks like Lynn Bynes has understood that Amanda has become independent in her matters and should be given the freedom to make her decisions by herself. The declaration that was written by Lynn was also endorsed by Dr. Kimberly Brown, who works at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Amanda Bynes initially petitioned to end her conservatorship on February 23 and it stated that she was mentally fit and able to take care of herself and take her decisions. Her psychiatrist also chimed in on the issue and stated that Bynes showed no apparent impairments in attention, alertness, information, and processing or ability to regulate emotions and doesn’t suffer from any thought disorder.
