Here’s the Amazing Miley Cyrus, Lana Del Rey, & Ariana Grande Collab You Never Expected But Totally Need to Hear

Singers Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, and Lana Del Rey are some of the most recognizable female artists in pop music today.

Having their own distinctive music styles, the trio has never worked together as a team before until now. And it’s all thanks to the upcoming Charlie’s Angels movie. Talk about girl power.

Pop Trio

Cyrus promoted the musical collab on her Twitter account and even tagged Del Rey, Grande and the official ‘Charlie’s Angels’ Twitter account in the post

The pop trio debuted their song together with the official trailer of the film released in late June. According to sources, the single will also serve as the theme song of the film reboot of the original iconic 70s television show.

The choice of having a trio of female artists sing a song for the film is actually a callback to the 2000s reboot of the series. In the McG-directed Charlie’s Angels films, a song, ‘Independent Woman’ by the group Destiny’s Child, which Beyonce used to be a member of, appeared in the soundtrack.

In fact, director Elizabeth Banks even says that they were directly inspired by the Destiny’s Child song and expressed her excitement that three of her favorite artists ended up working together to produce a song for the new film. It’s also worth noting that the song’s name is still unrevealed.

Classic Reboot

The original ‘angels’ were actresses Jaclyn Smith, the late Farrah Fawcett, and Cheryl Ladd

The new Charlie’s Angels movie is set to be released November of this year. The most recent reincarnation of the female-led action classic stars ‘Twilight’ actress Kristen Stewart, British newcomer Ella Balinska and ‘Aladdin’ star Naomi Scott as the trio of skilled secret agents employed by the mysterious Charlie Townsend. Meanwhile, Banks herself will co-star in the film as the comedic character Bosley.

According to Banks, who also co-wrote the movie’s script, the film’s story is actually the continuation of both the original television show and the 2000 and 2003 films. What more, she says that the film honors the legacy of the agency’s boss Charlie Townsend while also introducing a new set of angels who are global and modern.

Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, and Lucy Liu played the titular angels for the 2000s remake of the story

Also joining the cast are veteran actor Patrick Stewart, teen heartthrob Noah Centineo and British actor Sam Claflin. Some sources say that Stewart will play another version of the Bosley character while Centineo stars as the potential love interest to Balinska’s character.

Another interesting aspect of the reboot is the choice to show other teams of ‘angels’ from all around the world, something that previous reincarnations of the story hasn’t shown before.

This teaser came from Stewart himself and was corroborated by a photo Sony posted showing seven Townsend Agency locations across the globe.

What more, the upcoming film has also reportedly received the approval of former ‘angel’ Lucy Liu.
